For an entire decade, we have been working systematically to reduce our impact on the environment.

In 2011, our ISO 14001 certification was the starting point for a targeted environmental effort that has since launched a string of initiatives to reduce our resource consumption.

From eco-friendly glue to 41 tonnes less CO2
We have been using water-based, eco-friendly glue for a long time. In 2016, we invested in an automatic leather cutter to limit waste as much as possible, and last year we upgraded our air compressor so that we can turn off parts of the factory that are not in use, thus reducing our total energy consumption. 

In 2019, we switched to energy-efficient light sources at our parent factory in Poland. This means that we are saving the environment 150,000 kWh per year.

Most recently, 178 solar panels have supplied our largest factory with 41 MWh of energy – and reduced CO2 emissions in Poland by 41 tonnes since August 2019.

Design with consideration
Environmental considerations were an integral part of our design philosophy even before we received our ISO 14001 certification. That is because we take great pride in the fact that our furniture has a long life. That is why we have reversible cushions for most models so that wear is distributed, and why we incorporate flexibility into the design wherever we can. When something breaks, you only have to replace a single part instead of the whole piece of furniture. 

On top of that, we place very high demands on our materials, which are extremely durable and free of hazardous chemicals – and which also include more and more eco-friendly variants. Such as Olbia, which is made from recycled bottles or cork – one of the world’s most sustainable materials.

With these efforts, we are constantly striving to create design with consideration.
